Rate quote

Sindeo - 2017

After launching our first consumer facing product, Sindeo One, we noticed that there was a drastic drop off from rate quote. Knowing this was one of the most pivotal moments to build trust, we went back to the drawing board and to our customers, to overhaul the experience.

My responsibilities included:

  • Leading our user/market research,

  • Creating the core user experience,

  • Refining our visual design & iterating on concepts

  • Building prototypes for demoing to executives.

Visual overhaul

The first problem we needed to address was visual consistency. Our initial experience was out of sync with our recently revised design systems, which created a jarring  experience for customers. Additionally we simplified the user experience.

Unbiased expertise

To mitigate any apprehension a customer might have applying with an unknown company we decided to show a Sindeo Suggested loan. By highlighting a specific loan and letting customers know they had a multitude of lender options, Sindeo was able to make an unbiased recommendation. This demonstrated to potential customers we had their backs.

Working with us

Highlighting our lender pool did have one negative side effect. Some customers thought we might just be a lead gen platform. So we added a screen that let them know we will be the ones managing their home buying experience end to end.

Getting into the details

We needed to have an easy way for homebuyers to see the details of each loan without adding in a new screen. So unlike the first iteration of the rate table, we chose to keep homebuyers on a singular page.

Outcome

After the launch of the redesigned rate quote we saw a 2% decrease in user drop-off
