Insurance Dashboard

QuickBooks - 2020

The Insurance team was presented with the opportunity to insert our stand-alone experience inside of the larger QuickBooks platform. Having collected enough data on our first product we used this opportunity to take what we had learned and build an insurance experience that better served customer needs.

My responsibilities included:

  • Leading our user/market research,

  • creating the core user experience,

  • refining our visual design,

  • iterating on concepts

  • working cross functionally with other departments to launch within a few months.

More options

With our second product we wanted to provide business owners with a variety of insurance partners. That way we could match them with an insurer who was most compatible with their needs.

While we would recommend a specific partner to work with we made sure that business owners still had a range of option to choose from.

Smarter recommendations

For business owners just dipping their toes into the insurance world we built a recommendation tool focused on building their confidence and helping assess their business needs.

All in one place

Now that we were inside the QuickBooks platform it wasn’t enough to have a purchase focused experience. So we allowed businesses to upload their current insurance documents, file claims and eventually send certificates of insurance to vendors or customers.

Pre-quoting

One major concern business owners have when shopping for insurance is cost. So we created a feature that provided customers with an estimated price to reduce business owners concerns about buying insurance.

Outcome

Within a month of launching, we had helped the same number of businesses find insurance as our stand-alone product had in 6 months.
